Digitisation of student attendance records: Vatel Bordeaux chooses Edusign to modernise its daily operations
This year, our school is rolling out a new attendance tracking platform designed to simplify and modernise attendance monitoring: Edusign.
No more attendance sheets in class: thanks to this digital tool, attendance tracking is faster, more reliable and more transparent. Its goal? To make everyday life easier for both learners and teaching staff, while ensuring accurate and secure administrative monitoring.
What is signing in?
Signing in is the act of confirming your attendance at a class, exam or educational activity. Traditionally, this was done using an attendance sheet, filled in by the teacher. Today, the principle remains the same, but the tools have evolved.
Furthermore, attendance tracking is important because it is not limited to ‘signalling one’s presence’:
- It allows the school to accurately monitor attendance, which is essential for validating courses.
- It ensures administrative compliance, particularly for internships, examinations and agreements with external organisations.
- It also protects the learner by officially certifying their participation in classes.
In short, signing the attendance register is an essential part of school life: it is proof of the learner’s commitment and presence in their training program.
Why use a new platform?
Until now, attendance tracking relied on traditional methods, often involving paper or scattered across different tools. While this system worked, it had several limitations: lost or forgotten sheets, data entry errors, delays in transmitting information… all situations that could complicate administrative follow-up.
The implementation of this new platform therefore serves a dual purpose:
- To modernise the process with an accessible, centralised digital tool.
- To facilitate management for both learners and the teaching and administrative team.
With the new Edusign tool, attendance tracking is easier, faster and, above all, more reliable. Data is recorded immediately, which prevents errors and ensures complete transparency in attendance monitoring.

The platform makes signing in much simpler and faster: a simple gesture on a smartphone is all it takes to register attendance.
It also offers complete transparency: learners can view their attendance history at any time, check that their classes have been recorded correctly and thus avoid administrative errors. Finally, thanks to the centralisation of data, their information is secure and easily accessible, even in the event of a dispute or academic follow-up.
Beyond dashboards for monitoring and justifying absences and late arrivals, Edusign also allows learners to:
- Send customized individual emails
- Export data and absence records
- Schedule the sending of absence records to an apprenticeship supervisor on a recurring basis.

For the administrative team, Edusign represents a considerable time saving. All attendance is recorded automatically, eliminating manual re-entry and reducing the risk of errors.

This means they can now record early departures and late arrivals, as well as exclusions.
How does it work?
The new attendance platform has been designed to be simple and intuitive, so that every student can use it quickly and easily.
To get started, simply log in to the Edusign platform from a computer or smartphone using the usual login details provided by the school. Once logged in, the learner can access the list of courses or activities available for the day.
When they arrive in class, they simply register their attendance according to the method chosen by the teacher. This can be done in two ways:
- by scanning a QR code displayed in the classroom by the teacher
- or by signing an email.
As soon as they have confirmed their attendance, it is immediately recorded in the system.
The platform also allows attendance history to be checked at any time. This ensures that all participation is accurately recorded and allows any anomalies to be quickly detected.
