Our students had the opportunity to visit an establishment that is unusual not only because of its original decoration, but also its “off-the-wall” philosophy.
The Bordeaux Mama Shelter (the 5th one in the chain) opened on 7 November 2013. After two years of renovation, the result is both trendy and inspired. The unusual decor featuring a tagged carpet, writing on the ceiling, children’s rubber rings above the main bar, and well-appointed rooms all display designer Philippe Starck’s touch.
The Mama Shelter has two seminar venues for professional clients. The first one has a tree-shaded 40 m² patio and the second, on the 6th floor, affords one of the most beautiful views in Bordeaux, overlooking the city’s tile roofs.
The Mama Shelter has all sorts of neat things and gadgets to buy at reception, as well as pink ping pong tables, an open kitchen, a pizza corner, Mac computers to take selfies with, and table football to enjoy between two sips of a mojito.
