After a similar ceremony for our master’s students in Saint Emilion in May, Château Durfort-Vivens, belonging to Gonzague Lurton (scion of a wine dynasty with 27 estates around the world and 1,300 hectares of vines), welcomed us to honour the bachelor’s degree students this year.
Estate manager Jérôme Heranval greeted the group and then Sylvie Vennetier, in charge of administration, took us around the cellars and explained the château’s history. This was followed by a speech/personalised quiz and the awarding of a bottle of 2007 Château Durfort-Vivens, a Margaux classified growth, by Régis Glorieux, the school’s Managing Director.
A light buffet dinner supplied by a caterer (Lacoste) and a tasting of 2007 Durfort Vivens was offered to the students to bring their three years of studies at Vatel Bordeaux to an end.
We would very much like to thank the estate for their warm welcome.
