Vatel Bordeaux’s first year International MBA students recently visited the Burdigala Hotel, which was the first hotel in Bordeaux to be awarded 5 star status.

Our students were welcomed by the hotel’s owner and director, Thierry Gaillac. They were given VIP treatment and ‘backstage’ tour of the hotel.

This « URBAN CHIC » establishment comprises 83 guest bedrooms including 8 suites. It has become part of the MGallery sales and reservation network run by the Accor group.

The hotel, ideally located in Bordeaux city centre, near the business district of Mérideck, was completely refurbished in the summer of 2011.

It offers ultra modern and spacious guest bedrooms and a quality restaurant where its clientele can discover south western French gastronomic cuisine.
The wine cellar, on display for all to see, offers a great selection of the region’s grand crus and provides a marvelous opportunity to remind students interested in specializing in Wine & Spirits in their final year of the importance of wine and food pairing.

Thanks to this in-depth visit, our students were given the chance to immerse themselves in the luxury hotel and restaurant trade, meet the staff and gain a clearer idea of the range of careers available in the hotel-restaurant sector.
