Interview with a “newly former Bachelor’s degree student”: Charlotte ESTEVE, our European Major of 2014 promotion who successfully passed her exams.
– You succeeded in getting the best results of all European schools. I guess it is a great satisfaction for you?
It’s mostly a surprise but my main satisfaction is that my family and relatives were so proud of me. The key is to have materialized these three-year studies at Vatel, the ranking is not very important.
– How do you explain this success?
I think the credit goes to the teachers who managed to keep us interested in the courses so that we gave the best of ourselves. I am fortunate to have a good memory and some facilities in mathematics, which probably does the rest.
– What memories will you keep from these three years of study?
Wonderful meetings with both teachers, staff and professionals. I found confirmation of my professional projects, valuable contacts, but mostly unrivalled friends.
– During these three years, you had the opportunity to do two internships. What experience left its mark on you?
The meeting with Jérôme ROY, chef du Couvent des Minimes, Relais & Chateau in Provence 5 *, which has long worked alongside Pierre GAGNAIRE has been an honor for me as I admire him. My internship at Mykonos Theoxenia was meanwhile very culturally enriching and gave me the desire to travel.
– Since you got your degree, what happened to you?
I started a master “business” in Toulouse to complete my training. I want to improve my knowledge in Management and Strategy hoping to get more open doors to management positions preferably in the Food & Beverage industry. I am open to opportunities. The new training also gives me the opportunity to validate my MBA next year in NewYork, even if the United States was not necessarily my goal. I am still convinced that this could be a great experience and maybe open some doors on the international stage.
– Finally, if you had to define the “Vatel Spirit”?
Means sharing the same passion, the same values, to help people find and reach their vocation.
