OPINION POLL– Bordeaux stands first, ahead Nantes and Lyon, in the new ranking of cities where french people would consider to live. According to the survey led by OpinionWay for “Foncière des Regions”, Bordeaux metropolis also rises to the first cities that have the best evolution in the eyes of employees and managers.
If you had to move, in which city would you dream of settling in? That question asked by OpinionWay to both employees, managers and directors within the frame of a survey dedicated to the “territory attractiveness” got a clear answer: this is Bordeaux (23% of quotations) which got the prize for the metropolis where french workers would consider to move to improve their working and living conditions, ahead of Nantes (20%), Lyon (17%) … Paris being only 9th (11%). This is not a big surprise considering that people are first looking for a city “close to the sea” (55%) and at a “human scale” (54%).
In the meantime, Bordeaux stands out in another ranking : the one that distinguish the metropolis that had the best improvement in the last 10 years and the expected evolution for the next 10 years, in the opinion of employees and leaders. Even if Paris keeps being ahead (10 points approximately), the urban community led by M. Alain Juppé is still in the Top 3. Workers recognize Bordeaux for its accessibility, its transportation network but also for the actions led by local representatives. The city was one of the first introducing and developing the Tramway network and its mayor, M. Alain Juppé, who has a national exposure (former prime minister) has built Bordeaux’s action plan for the last 20 years and the changes are tremendous. Tribute also to the “quality of life on the Garonne river banks” and for the average temperature (13.8 C).
* Opinion poll led on the internet, from 3 to 23th of October, based on a representative sample of 1.012 office workers in private companies with more than 250 employees.
